UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMW Toyota Motor) sales for the month of June continues in an upward for a total of 8,939 units with Toyota at 8,870 units and Lexus 69 units. This compares with the previous month's sales at 7,442 Toyota units and 137 Lexus units.
The total year-to-date sales for June 2022 is registered at 45,911 units (Toyota + Lexus), as compared with 34,111 units (Toyota + Lexus) the same period in June 2021, registering an increased of 35% (Toyota + Lexus)
The recent announcement on the SST exemption is expected to have a short-term negative impact on sales. However, this is mitigated with some early signs of recovery on the global shortage of semiconductors and microchips in the second half of this year, production could ramp up and with the launch of newer, more sophisticated models boasting advanced automotive technology which will leave buyers spoilt for choice.
